Genuine GM OEM nitrogen oxide sensor assembly, GM part number 12662659. This is a GM Genuine Parts component — the same part GM specifies as the factory replacement for the original equipment sensor, not an aftermarket copy.
Position 2 is the DOWNSTREAM (rear) sensor. It sits after the selective catalytic reduction (SCR) catalyst and measures the NOx level leaving the aftertreatment system, which the ECM uses to confirm the SCR is working and to trim diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) dosing. It is not the upstream/inlet sensor (Position 1), which sits ahead of the SCR. Ordering the wrong position is the most common mistake on this part — please confirm which sensor your fault code points to before buying.
This part is engine-specific to the 2.0L diesel Cruze. It does not fit the gasoline Cruze, and it is not the Duramax truck NOx sensor. Please verify your part number against the sensor you are replacing before purchase.
Per GM: this part requires programming and/or special setup procedures. GM Service Information describes the procedures and special tools needed to ensure proper operation in the vehicle. Plan on a scan tool capable of performing the NOx sensor relearn/reset after installation.
Used. This is a previously installed sensor. The probe shows normal heat discoloration from service, exactly as shown in the photographs, which are of the actual item you will receive. Sold as pictured.
