This is a POWERLINE adapter kit - it carries your network over the electrical wiring already in your house. Plug one adapter into an outlet near your router and connect it with the included Ethernet cable; plug the second adapter into any outlet in another room and connect a TV, game console, streaming box, desktop PC, printer or access point. The two adapters talk to each other through your home power lines, so you get a hard-wired connection in a room with no Ethernet jack and no need to run new cable.
What it is not: this is not a Wi-Fi range extender, not a wireless router, not a wireless access point and not a USB Wi-Fi adapter. These adapters do not broadcast a Wi-Fi signal - each one gives you a wired Ethernet port where you plug it in.
